Food – any nourishing substance that is eaten, drunk, or otherwise taken into the body to sustain life, provide energy, promote growth.
Democracy – from the Greek words demos, meaning “people,” and kratos, meaning “authority.” A form of government in which the people have the right to control their own destiny. In a democracy the people have the final authority, they have the right to make or at least influence decisions that affect their everyday lives.
Food Democracy – The right of all people to an adequate, safe, nutritious, sustainable, food supply.
Information is power. We strive to inform, educate, and provide a call to action on the issues of food, nutrition, and food safety as it relates to ourselves and our world.
We believe we can all make a difference. Every informed decision to make a change for the better is a step forward. Every food purchase is a vote. What we eat, matters.

Do you have a position on this food safety bill– HR 875?
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-875
Because your blog is being used to imply that the bill is being heavily backed by Monsanto. I’d like to know if this is correct.
Thanks much

Come on people wake up with out nutrition in our food we we will all die. Whats it gonna take to change this now i read that the government wants to kill pigs that have the wrong hair color.Wow this world is unbelievable oh and after they go kill the pigs the government is going to put the farmers in jail. Then we have nothing to eat but GMO weneed to do something about this. I was reading some articles on how all there cats are losing there hair and have bloody scabs and no one can figure it out well I did its all about nutrition.I gave my cats multivitamins and all natural foods and my 2 cats are healed. My cats also had scabs all down the back under the neck and I was working on this everyday.I started out with garlic organic Kyloc. What I am trying to say here is thats what will happen to us we will be so sick then die. Then it will be too late cause theres no natural food left so we have to do something about this now times running out. we are the sickest coutry in the world. We are not that dumb other places are saying no to pesticdes, growth homones and all that junk i read they are all much healthier now. Thanx Rita
